Science Parks & Sector Hubs
Bristol and Bath Science Park (SPark), Emersons Green
The proposed 25 hectare Science Park, between the M4 and the Avon Ring Road on Bristol's north fringe, will provide 77,000 sq metres of accommodation in a variety of building sizes and specifications. The 300 million GBP science park will be comparable in size and scope to the best in the UK, including the Warwick and Cambridge science and technology parks, and will be partly devoted to research and development uses.
Acting as a major hub for science and technology in the north of the region, demand for the park will come from the established key sectors in the South West; aerospace and defence, digital technologies and biotechnology. The Universities of Bath, Bristol and the West of England are key partners supporting this exciting new project whose first phase is expected to be complete in Summer 2008.
Creative Depot, Bristol
A former office block overlooking Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station is set to become one of Bristol's major creative centres and a landmark base for creative companies in Bristol. This 5-acre site will provide up to 275,000 sq ft of mixed-use space including production resources such as TV studios, recording studios and artists' spaces, as well as training resources to nurture new creative talent.
Locking Parklands, Weston-super-Mare
Locking Parklands, which is situated just south of the M5 on the south-eastern outskirts of Weston-super-Mare, will provide 25 hectares of high-quality business accommodation and up to 1,800 homes in mature landscaped parklands. The scheme will transform the former RAF Locking site into a new hi-tech business, residential and leisure community with new education and entertainment facilities offering a contemporary working and living environment.
The development will provide businesses with state-of-the-art workspaces that can be created to suit a company's specific needs. Buildings of any size, from 1,000 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft, can easily be accommodated and all offices will be designed to the highest possible standards.
