Environmental Technologies
The environmental technologies sector is one of the fastest growing in the West of England. It is estimated that there are up to 300 companies and around 14,000 people in employment and there is great potential for further enterprise and innovation.
With an increasing international focus on developing sustainable business and living environments, companies are undertaking groundbreaking work in key areas including recycling, energy control, sustainable transport and a wide variety of consultancy and specialist services. They include: Garrad Hassan and Partners, the Soil Association, Sustrans, Centre for Sustainable Energy, Resource Futures Ltd (incorporating the former Recycling Consortium, Network Recycling and SWAP), Schumacher UK, The Green Register, Bristol Electric Railbus, Wind Prospect, Tidal Generation and Compact Power.
